Sandwich, A Blessing in Disguise!

Sandwiches can be termed as a blessing for every generation, especially the current one. The millennials  are always looking for foods on the go, they do not have time to cook elaborately in the kitchen and that’s why sandwiches are a great option. All you need is some bread, vegetables and butter/cheese or some other kind of spread to put together this humble snack. Well, maybe that’s why Americans eat 300 sandwiches a day (maybe)! But, have you ever wondered how this popular food come into existence?

Here’ how:  Sandwich came into the picture in 1972 in England, by John Montagu, so obsessed with the gambling habits that he didn’t even stop for a meal. He asked the cook to bring him roasted meat between two slices of bread, so he could continue with his game while he ate his meal and that is exactly when this invention came to existence!  The Earl played non-stop for 24 hours and only ate ‘sandwiches’ in between. This trend kind of caught on with people ordering ‘the same as a sandwich.’  Funny, how one of the most popular snacks in the world was created!
